WLCSD ALICE Training Update - September 2022
In the Walled Lake Consolidated School District, the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. As we begin our new school year, I am pleased to share that we are continuing our ALICE® training for all of our staff and students during the 2022-23 school year. Last December, we effectively and purposefully provided the necessary training for our staff and students to feel safe and secure in our buildings moving forward in a short period of time.
The Walled Lake Consolidated School District is committed to becoming an ALICE® District. In order to achieve our goal, we must complete the following steps:
First - All staff must complete the online ALICE® training module. This step is currently in process at this time.
Second - Staff will complete in-person training. Please see the schedule referenced below. On these training dates, the school building will be CLOSED to students.
Third - All buildings must continue to practice safety drills throughout the school year with students.
We sincerely appreciate the continued support from our stakeholder groups when it comes to this important work. Specifically, we would like to extend our gratitude to our local law enforcement agencies for their support in this process. Without their assistance, this plan would not be possible.
On the date a building is scheduled for staff to participate in in-person ALICE® training, the building will be considered CLOSED and there will be NO SCHOOL for students on that particular day. We know this adjustment may cause schedule conflicts for our families and we apologize for any inconvenience this plan creates.

9th Annual Salute to Service Game
Since 2014, the Walled Lake Central and Walled Lake Northern Football teams have been honoring United States Military personnel, Veterans, and First Responders during their game each year. This year, the game will be on Friday night, October 14th at WL Central.
Sponsor your First Responder, Veteran, or Military Personnel in the game for a $100 donation. They can be current or retired, a family member, or a friend. Players for both teams will be wearing a special jersey with the sponsored last name on the back – and playing in their honor. You and the honoree will receive the jersey right after the game – and they are really cool looking!
There will be a brief ceremony at the end of the game where the jersey will be presented to the sponsor. Family and friends are welcome – so, please attend the game. It is a wonderful experience. A roster mentioning each honoree will be included in the program. All proceeds will go to Military Families United of Michigan (an IRS Charity) to benefit Michigan Military Families.
Click here to complete the form or go to wlcfootball.com/forms . Deadline for Sponsoring a Jersey is September 23rd.
