The Weekly Hoot
January 6-12, 2014
Greetings All -
Happy New Year to all of you! I have procrastinated long enough, and decided it was time to get the first Hoot of 2014 out! I hope all of you have had a terrific Christmas break and brought in the New Year with family and friends. I am excited to get the second semester of this school year started. I have missed all of you, as well as the kiddos!
The construction should be beginning very shortly, like this week! The portable building was moved over the holidays and we are ready to go! I know that this coming week a construction trailer will be put next to the playground. I will send out more information about that as I get it. We will now be taking all students in the gym at the end of the school day instead of lining bus riders up in the halls. We will have a very short meeting about this after the presenter tomorrow to explain how we are doing it. It won't be hard at all; in fact, it might be a little bit easier!
There will be no after school meetings this Wednesday afternoon so that we can get "ease back into" our school days. I do think, however, this would be a great time to get together with your team if you are about to begin guided reading. Basically, you have two planning days this week (Tuesday and Wednesday) if you want to take advantage of it! :)
On a personal note, I might be a tad bit on edge this week as I have to have a breast biopsy again like I did in 2011. If I seem a little preoccupied that is why. I am not sure about what day yet. They are calling me tomorrow (Monday). The radiologist doesn't seem to concerned yet, so I am not going to be either. I just wanted my "second family" to know what was up. Probably best not to discuss it with me at this point. You all know how I am! :) I promise to keep all of you up to date as I know things, but right now, if you just keep me in your prayers, I would appreciate it.
On a happier note, it is Homecoming Week! The cheerleaders are determining themes for Wednesday - Friday tomorrow (Monday) at their practice, but Tuesday to kick things off for Homecoming (and because it is going to be soooooo cold!), please wear jeans and any warm Anderson-Shiro Owl shirt you can find!
Let's make it a great week!
Marcy :)
