Social Media Highlights

Environmental Studies has improved its presence on Facebook and Twitter.

New accounts have been made in Instagram and LinkedIn.

Environmental Studies also has a presence on the new social media tool for NIU organizations, Huskie Link.

We have also been busy updating the Faculty & Research Opportunities section of the website. Check it out!

New NIU LEED Student Group

Find out more about this group, which is advised by Dr. Kevin Martin, on Facebook.

Intelen Gamification Pilot & Sustainability Website

ENVS piloted a smart phone application in February in order to determine whether it was a viable tool to increase sustainability behaviors. Three ENVS courses participated in the pilot and the results are briefly discussed in the photo to the left.

This initiative was led by an Intern who was collaboratively supervised by both Environmental Studies and NIU Facilities.

The next step of the collaboration is the development of a website that serves as a comprehensive source of sustainability efforts at NIU. This website should be launched by June of 2015!
