Interested in Working on Our Campus? Paraeducators Needed!
Many paras find working in VOICE to be exceptionally rewarding, due to the nature of the work and the opportunity to positively impact the lives of the students they serve.
The VOICE Program (Vocational Opportunities in Community Experiences) is designed for students with disabilities who are 18-21 years of age. VOICE provides comprehensive instruction and vocational experiences to prepare students for a fulfilling adult life. Curriculum focuses on vocational training at community worksites, use of public transportation (currently on hold due to Covid), self-advocacy, personal life management, and post-secondary educational opportunities. Students also receive assistance in career exploration, job search, job applications and interviewing skills. It's very much a "family" atmosphere, with emphasis on helping students become all they can be.
Please check out the openings on the district HR website, and consider passing this message onto people you know might be a good fit for our VOICE program, or applying yourselves! Job benefits include sharing a work calendar with your Edmonds SD student(s), year-round benefits, ParaII pay, high-quality training, and more. i-Ready Assessments
i-Ready allows your teachers to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.
i-Ready Personalized Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so your student can learn at a pace that is just right for them. These lessons are fun and interactive to keep your student engaged as they learn.
Some students have already done their fall diagnostics; others will complete them in the coming weeks. Please reach out if you have any questions!
