As we complete Quarter 1 grades, this is a great time to be reflective about our grading philosophies and policies. Do your grades reflect compliance as opposed to ability? Does your grading system allow students to rebound from a failure? Please take a look at this article. I found some parts of it to be very thought provoking. I know grading policies can be a touchy subject and I am in no way suggesting that everyone should change theirs. I am merely introducing a topic and encouraging healthy reflection and discussion. Have fun!
