Principal's Message
What a beautiful weekend! Summer is right around the corner. In an effort to capture the fun of the end of the school year while also attempting to replicate traditions and special end of the year activities, here is a reminder of what the school days ahead will look like:
Daily lesson plans per grade level will continue to be shared and they will include daily literacy (reading and/or writing) practice, math practice, and a virtual enrichment opportunity for students and families to enjoy. There will be no new video lessons introduced.
Classroom teachers will continue to schedule live meetings (whole group, small group, or 1:1) as they have throughout and will host a final class meeting on June 10th. This day will also include a closing celebration for students and families.
Reminder - Intervention lesson plans ended on May 21 and June 5 is the final day for 4K.
Enrichment opportunities kick off this week with a Meadow View Talent Show and Community Guest Readers. Grade levels also have some special experiences this week. I am particularly excited about the week of June 1 where we have coordinated the enrichment experiences across all 5 elementary schools in the hopes of having a week of experiences that bring our entire community together. Please use the hashtag #ShineOnOcon should you choose to share any photos on social media of your child or family enjoying the special activity.

MDV Talent Show!
Hello MDV Families,
This is a special message from your music teacher, Ms. Clark, letting you know that all students 4K through 4th grade will get to be part of a very special event this week! :-)
On Wednesday, May 27th, we will be having our first online MDV Talent Show!! I will be sending out a link for each grade level talent show through FlipGrid. Please be sure to practice your talent a few times so you are able to showcase your very best talent, and then record your talent on FlipGrid. And be sure to take time to view what your classmates have shared. I can’t wait to see all of your talents online at our MDV Talent Show next Wednesday, May 27th! :-)
Thank you,
Ms. Clark

Borrowed Technology Return
*This does not apply to 4th graders with a district-issued Chromebook, only those who checked out a device to help to access virtual content.
If you checked out a Chromebook or iPad, please fill out this brief form if you would like to keep it over the summer (to be returned to school at the start of the 2020-2021 school year).
For those leaving the district or not wanting to keep the device over the summer, you may return it to your school during materials pick up, or drop it off at our East Campus front desk by June 15th.
All internet hotspots need to be returned by June 15th, either during school materials pick up or to East Campus. If you have an educational need for the hotspot over the summer, please send an email to the Technology Help Desk to request an extension.
When returning devices, make sure to include all chargers & cases that were issued to you at check-out. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Attention 4K Families:
The final day of 4K learning activities will be Friday, June 5th. Each 4K teacher will directly communicate final remote learning activities to families so students can participate on June 5th. Since June 8th is a teacher planning day, 5K-4th grade students will participate in "End of Year Activities" on June 9th and 10th. If those activities occur for the entire school, 4K students are welcome to participate if they choose. We just want 4K families to be aware that final remote learning activities will conclude for their child on Friday, June 5th.
Thank you for all your support over the past several months.
