January 8th-12th, 2018
Happy New Year!

We will study mitosis, photosynthesis, and cellular respiration next week.

Dance - Mrs. Brewington
7th Grade Dance Rotation: Course requirements are due January 12th. We are working on a basic steps review. There will be a sub on Tuesday. 3x5 index cards are required to make flash cards on Tuesday the 9th.
7th dance focus: We are putting the finishing touches on the first dance for our April performance. I will be out January 9th, 23rd-26th. On the 9th the students will study a video of the first dance, creating an extensive list of items to pefect and adjust. January 23-26 the students will use StoryJumper Tutorial, to create a dance injuries book.
Monday, January 15th is a holiday! (No School)
Math - Mr. Smith
ELA - Mrs. Templeton
The students are analyzing George Bush's "Bullhorn" speech and Franklin D. Roosevelt"s "Pearl Harbor" speech. They are identifying the pathos (suffering), ethos (character), and logos (word) used in each speech.
The students are writing a letter to themselves about their 2018 New Year' Resolution. The rough draft is due on Monday. This will be due no later than Friday, January 12.
The students have a book review due Friday, January 12.
No vocabulary or stems test this week.
ELA & Social Studies
Students will conclude their study of imperialism and prepare for their test on the material.
7th Grade ELA
Students will have a stems quiz this week. We have new book club books with historical fiction. We will be focusing on citing evidence to support statements with stated and inferred evidence.
