We are delighted to report activity at several stores at School Street Square. Cardio Express, a 23,000 square feet modern fitness center, is officially open for business. Work is underway on Grossman's Bargain Outlet, Dunkin Donuts, O'Reilly's Automotive, and a Bank of America ATM. All the new activity will bring improvements in the façade and parking lot of the center, and will attract new tenants as foot traffic increases.
The Pratt & Whitney World headquarters and the expansion of the United Technology Research Center has been approved by all the required town boards and commissions. We anticipate a groundbreaking this summer. In the meantime, they will begin mobilizing the site and getting it ready for construction to begin.
In April, the East Hartford Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 100th Anniversary. Congratulations to the Chamber for this outstanding achievement. Many town officials, and former chamber presidents were in attendance and we were grateful for remarks by Governor Dannel Malloy and U.S. Congressman John Larson.
