The Legacy Times

Volume 16 - December 2018

Director's Spotlight: Shanna Grubb

Dear Legacy Line Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed your time with your family. Thank you so much for your Angel Tree donations! You all did a wonderful job! I'm so thankful to have such a generous and responsible group of young ladies to work with.

As we charge into December, your girls are busy already working on contest routines. This year, we will be taking four team routines to contest including: a pom, hip hop, jazz and a lyrical, one contemporary ensemble, one social officer routine and three dance officer routines. Each routine will be auditioned. There might be a few small expenses that come up with these routines such as shoes, tights, necklace, leggings or earirngs. But, almost all of the overall cost of the costumes will be paid with our booster club account or school account. Officers could possibly have additional expenses for the costume cost of one routine. The contest fees and choreography fees will all be paid through booster club and the school account given from the district. Thank you so much for all your participation in the fundraisers we do, as it helps greatly to provide things for the girls! Please stay tuned as information regarding what they need to purchase on their own for competition costuming accessories will be coming out soon.

If your daughters would like to, they are welcome to compete in a solo, duet, trio or ensemble on their own if they wish. They are all such talented dancers so I would highly recommend this for them. This is an excellent opportunity for them to continue to grow as a dancer and a performer. I grew up competing in the solo and duet category and have wonderful memories of a rewarding experience enjoying the adrenaline rush of performing. The cost for a solo is $105, duet $170, trio $180, small ensembles (4-6) $190, medium ensembles (7-12) $200. The money for these routines, should they chose to compete, would be due to the booster club on January 9th for the first contest at IHS and on January 18th for the second contest at LTHS. You are welcome to pay on RevTrak or with a check made out to Legacy Line Backers Booster Club.

Thank you again for all you do for the Legacy Line. Our program would not be a success without you!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Grubb
