First Day Review
Dear Beck Families,
It was a great first day of school at Beck! We enjoyed greeting all of our new and returning students. The excitement of reconnecting with their friends, and getting to know new classmates and teachers was amazing to watch.
In order to continue a successful start, we have specific procedures and practices in place. First, we have a traffic pattern that was developed to create a safe drop-off and pick-up for our students. To view our traffic pattern map, click here. Please do not drop students off in the street as that presents a potentially dangerous situation. In addition, please use side walks and crosswalks, and never walk your students in the car drop-off line.
Dismissal may take a little longer than normal this week. Please be patient as we work through the procedures. Once we get going smoothly, we should have all students dismissed around 3:15. Parents who are meeting their children who are walking need to meet them on the sidewalk nearest to Parkview. Please do not walk across the crosswalk and meet them where we are dismissing car riders. If you have any transportation changes, please be sure to notify your child's teacher and email the front office at beckelem@nisdtx.org
Also, in order to establish routines and procedures, we are a closed campus for lunch this week. Once students are familiar with the procedures we will happily welcome lunch guests. Please plan on Tuesday, Sept. 5th as the first day guests may eat with their child.
In addition, we welcome you to walk your child to class during this first week of school to help get students acquainted with their classrooms. However, Tuesday Sept. 5th is "Independence Day"! We ask that you drop your child off at the door, and let them walk to class on their own. We will have staff outside and inside of the building to help direct students to their classroom.
Once again, welcome to what promises to be an exciting school year! We look forward to seeing you soon.
S. Conklin, Principal
