Teaching, Learning and Assessment in a 'Nutshell'

Issue 2

Welcome to the 2nd edition of the TLA e-digest. You will be aware that the sole purpose of this is to share practice and update you on what is going on with regards to Teaching, Learning and Assessment across Central College Nottingham.

In the build up to the impending Ofsted visit, this bulletin should give you a whole host of ideas to help to prepare you. There are lots of links to resources and information relating to events that you can attend, so spare yourself 5 minutes to have a read!

The Education and Training Foundation have released a set of new standards for those that work in the FE and Skills sector. Make yourself aware of the standards that impact you in FE. If you'd like further information, please contact the Training and Development team who can deliver a short presentation on them, otherwise, access the information here.

Why not pair up with someone in the college to help you to develop?

As part of the sharing best practice at Central College Nottingham, we are offering all teaching staff the opportunity to sign up to the 'buddy pool'. Once you sign up, you will be allocated someone who shares the same interests as yourself. You can meet informally or simply email one another to discuss ways to share problems and improve practice in a particular area. It is completely informal and provides you with the opportunity to meet others from across the college. Sign up by clicking below.

Take part in the College Blog!

Your views on Teaching and Learning are important. The knowledge and skills within the college should be shared among others. We all know how demanding the role can be, so now you can share your opinion at the touch of a button. All you need to do is click on the link below and add your thoughts to a forum that is already open, or add your own topic for conversation for others to add their thoughts. There is no minimum or maximum expectation, but it would be fab if you could share your ideas.
