FOOTBALL KICKS OFF, GETS BIG WINS, SETS TONE FOR SEASON!!

The Colt program kicked off this week with 3 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie. We were very proud of the effort and determination the boys showed after 3 hard weeks of work!

GAME RESULTS

7th CMS C vs HERITAGE - W 19-6

7th CMS B vs COPPELL EAST - W 22-0

7th CMS A vs COPPELL EAST - L 44-0

8th CMS B vs COPPELL EAST - T 0-0

8th CMS A vs COPPELL EAST - W 26-14

Player of the game:

7TH C TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - HAYDEN SADD

HAYDEN TOOK OVER THE GAME WITH BIG TIME TD RUNS FOR HIS TEAM. HE SHOWED POISE AND COMPOSURE KNOWING HIS TEAM WAS COUNTING ON HIM!!

7TH C TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - ZACH ANDERSON

EVERY TIME THE PLAY ENDED IT SEEMED LIKE ZACH WAS GETTING UP FROM THE PILE OR TACKLE. THAT IS THE KIND OF DRIVE AND EFFORT WE WANT FROM EVERY KID. WAY TO GO ZACH!

7TH B TEAM SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - STONE HARRINGTON

STONE PROVED TO BE POSSIBLY THE MVP OF THE WHOLE TEAM ON MONDAY BY KICKING THE BALL DEEP. IT'S HARD ENOUGH TO SCORE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AS IT IS, BUT MAKING THEM DRIVE THE LENGTH OF THE FIELD PROVED TO BE IMPOSSIBLE!

7TH B TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - CORBIN BREWER

CORBIN MADE MANY PLAYS ON THE FIELD MONDAY NIGHT, BUT 2 HUGE PLAYS STUCK OUT IN THE COACHES' HEADS. FIRST SCORE OF THE GAME DIDN'T COME ON OFFENSE, BUT A SAFETY THAT FIRED UP THE WHOLE SQUAD! LATER ON A PIVOTAL 4TH DOWN AS THE QB ROLLED OUT, CORBIN HUNTED DOWN THE QB TO PREVENT A FIRST DOWN. THE OFFENSE CAME ON AND SCORED QUICKLY, PUTTING THE GAME OUT OF REACH.

7TH B TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - SAM "LEFTY JR" STACY

SAM SPLIT TIME AT QB THIS WEEK AND MADE THE MOST OF HIS OPPORTUNITIES! ON MANY OCCASIONS HE MADE OUTSTANDING READS ON THE DEFENSE TO THROW PASSES FOR HUGE GAINS, EVEN ON 3RD AND 4TH DOWN. WHEN PROTECTION BROKE DOWN, HE MADE THE DEFENSE PAY WITH HIS LEGS AS WELL. HE HAD AN ALL AROUND GREAT GAME!

While the A team boys played hard, we put it to a vote to hand out awards. Knowing how important receiving a horse shoe is, and what it stands for, overwhelmingly, the A team voted against awards this week. I firmly believe they will take this as motivation going into the CTMS game.

8TH B TEAM SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - CONNOR ANTHONY

CONNOR CAME UP WITH A HUGE BLOCK ON DEFENSE TO GIVE THE BALL BACK TO THE OFFENSE!

8TH B DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - TYLER GULIZIA

IF YOU'VE EVER MET TYLER, HE IS THE NICEST YOUNG MAN...THAT IS UNTIL HE GETS ON THE FIELD. TYLER WAS A DOMINATE FORCE ON DEFENSE, BY THE OBVIOUS GOOSE EGG EAST HAD ON THE SCORE BOARD. HE WAS MAKING TACKLES IN THE BACKFIELD AND AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE ALL EVENING!

8TH B OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME -

WHILE THERE WERE TIMES WE WERE MOVING THE BALL, WE SPUTTERED OUT AT TIMES AND WE DO NOT HAVE AN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME THIS WEEK.

8TH A TEAM SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - DANIEL OLATUNJI

DANIEL DID WHAT DANIEL ALWAYS DOES BEST PINNING OFFENSES DEEP TO START THEIR DRIVE. HE IS A WEAPON ON SPECIAL TEAMS!

8TH A TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - KEVIN CONTE

WE ARE GLAD TO SEE KEVIN AGAIN! LATE IN THE GAME EAST WAS TRYING TO PUT TOGETHER A COME BACK AND ON A 3RD AND LONG PLAY, KEVIN PUT AN END TO THAT BY GRABBING THE 3RD INTERCEPTION OF THE NIGHT FOR THE COLTS! HE ALLOWED THE OFFENSE TO RUN THE CLOCK OUT, AND START THE SEASON 1-0!

8TH A TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - SEAN FANNING

A FAMILIAR FACE TO THE OFFENSIVE P.O.T.G...SEAN PROVED TO BE TOO MUCH FOR THE DEFENSE OF COPPELL EAST TO HANDLE. HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT FOR SEAN WAS GOING UP FOR A JUMP BALL IN THE CORNER OF THE ENDZONE ONLY TO HAVE THE DEFENDER GET BOTH HANDS ON HIS BALL. SEAN WASN'T GIVING THAT BALL UP AND ON THE WAY DOWN RIPPED IT FROM THE DEFENDER.

Future Mustang and Panther Nights at Mustang Panther Stadium!!!
