Early College Academy Highlights
What are Early College Academies?
Health Sciences Academy
The Early College Health Sciences Academy (ECHSA) offers an exceptional opportunity for students to integrate the last two years of high school and the first two years of college. Located at Rose Hill High School USD 394, students are prepared for a career in health care and immersed in the college learning experience as a high school student. The two-year program allows students to earn a diploma and a significant portion of an associate degree by their high school graduation.
Public Safety Academy
Butler Community College offers the Early College Public Safety Academy (ECPSA). The ECPSA will allow high school students to earn a Certificate of Completion in Public Safety which includes: Broad exposure to Fire Science, Criminal Justice, Emergency Medicine, or Emergency Communications as sophomores.
Information Technology
Providing you with the tools of the future, the Early College Information Technology Academy (ECITA) offers an exceptional opportunity for students to integrate the last two years of high school and the first two years of college. The Academy will prepare students for careers in IT related fields and immerse them in the college learning experience as a high school student.
Our newest Early College Academy: Manufacturing/Engineering!
The Early College Manufacturing Engineering Academy, located in Andover, allows high school students to go through a four-semester curricular track for certificate completion, and puts students well on their way toward an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.
Students learn transferable skills as well as STEM techniques and models to prepare them for high demand STEM-related jobs. The lab experience teaches students to operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, 3D printers and more.
Butler is the only two-year college in Kansas accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Enrollment is limited due to lab size and safety considerations.
