Composer, Ramin Djawadi
Well it's that time again! Season Six of the HBO Series, Game of Thrones now on after a long wait.It has been quite an amazing film endeavor for a TV series, having the rand locations, costumes, and special effects on the same scale of a movie production. They have definitely spared no expense. The author of the books, George R.R. Martin has also been on an interesting journey by continuing the books series, while helping to guide the TV script simultaneously. Usually books are written first, and then TV or movie scripts are adapted to the screen, very challenging.
Lastly, what makes this series so interesting is the music, which is composed by Ramin Djawadi. Djawadi is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and caught the eye of the great mentor movie composer Hans Zimmer. He has been involved in many other tv/movie/video projects, as well such as: Iron Man, Red Dawn, Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim, Warcraft, The Strain (tv series), and Medal of Honor (video game) to name just a few. As a young composer, he does have great repetitive movie themes, with added thematic music to the story line topics, often a quite humorous addition. It is so easy to remember the opening theme, repetitive, but simple and very powerful, right?! He has done a wonderful job with the music from Game of Thrones and will surely continue to enhance the action with memorable, moving musical lines to the end; it should be good!
