World Fair
Students had a blast at the World Fair last week! We visited numerous countries including Italy, Costa Rica, Argentina, Armenia, South Korea, France and many others! Everyone learned a lot, had fun, and many tasty snacks were enjoyed! Thank you to everyone who volunteered and took time out to make it such an amazing afternoon!
I took some photos but they came out very blurry- if anyone has photos they would like me to put on the website, please email them to me at kpatito@lcusd.net
This week in Mathematics
The week will start out with an exploration of volumes with non fractional edge lengths to have a basis that we can use to compare to rectangular prisms with fractional edge lengths. Students needing a review of multiplying fractions by fractions can utilize these resources: - they can also schedule a time to meet with me for review before or after school or during lunch or recess.

This week will be a challenging one in math. Please reassure your student, if they are struggling, that it is totally normal to grapple with something new. I also cannot put enough emphasis on students fully reading directions and working to pull every single piece of information out the problem they are working with, and if they feel they don't know what their next step should be, thinking about similar problems they have seen and drawing a model of the information they do know- this is especially important of the real-world context problems.
