After-school Activity

Club starts Wed, Nov 30

“Club,” the ACES after-school club, will hold its first meeting on Nov. 30. It meets each Wednesday from 2-4pm and there is an activity bus to take students home when Club ends. Along with shaping what Club looks like and how it impacts the school, students will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills, plan activities, and engage our community both within and outside of ACES. Club is facilitated by ACES staff Kristin Simeone, Anne Windsor, and Ting Fang and is open to all ACES students.

From our Counselors

ASVAB

We are offering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on Monday, December 5th for any ACES student at no cost. The test will occur during the school day. Although the ASVAB is typically advertised for students interested in a military career, this test can also be completed by any student to meet their pathway requirement for graduation.

Our students have several options to meet their graduation pathway, including specific in-person classes, Sno-Isle, Running Start, the SBAC, and the ASVAB. The ASVAB is a great option for students who do not have another pathway in their schedule. The ASVAB can be completed in 3 hours or less and can also provide students with career suggestions based on their responses.

Your counselor can review pathway options with your student and help them decide if the ASVAB is a good fit. We do have limited space, so your student should sign up here as soon as possible if they are interested.

Parent University

On December 2nd, 8-9AM, we are hosting our monthly Parent University at ACES High School Library (and in zoom)! Join us for coffee and a chance to hear more about financial aid, how to fill out the FAFSA, community service and scholarship opportunities, and how to support your high school student. We will also have an open Q&A opportunity for parents to connect directly with our counselors and High School and Beyond coordinator. (Click here to find the zoom link).

Winter Break Food Support

We know many families have additional needs for food over the holiday break when kids are home and unable to get breakfast and lunch at school. Our family liaison will be putting together winter break food boxes containing non-perishable, easy-to-prepare foods like soups, pasta/sauce, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, and snacks. Boxes will be ready for pickup in the ACES office on Wed Dec 14 or Thurs Dec 15. If you need food, click here to fill out our Winter Break Food Support form by Dec 9.
