Beach Buddies' Bulletin
In readers' workshop we noticed that all our mental images are different because our schema (experiences) are different. We also found that our mental images change throughout a text. At the end of the week, we began a unit on questioning.
We continued out study of "how to" stories by adding clarifying details, numbers, colons, and interesting endings.
In math we used counting rods to make equal numbers and compare sizes. We worked more with recognizing the name and worth of coins---this would be a great thing to practice at home as it is often a tricky concept.
More from our week...
This week we read many Dr. Seuss books in honor of his birthday on March 2nd. We made "Thing 1's and Thing 2's" and graphed our favorite Dr.Seuss book.
Miss Martinez helped us make an ABC chart to go along with pajama day last week. Friday we made a classbook about it.
A new friend...
I am sure your kindergartner shared the most exciting news of the week....we are gaining a new Beach Buddy on Monday! We welcome Lucy into our class. The kinders are VERY excited to meet her and show her the ropes!
