Weekly Newsletter
This week, I'd like to highlight our El Camino Speech and Debate Team which earned high honors this past Saturday at the San Diego Imperial Valley Speech League speech tournament at Carlsbad High School.
Sophomore Karis Ho, giving an informative speech on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, came in 3rd place in her division and took home a trophy. So did Junior Michelle Mendoza, whose speech about making friends was received enthusiastically by the judges earning her 3rd place in Novice Original Oratory. Freshman Michelle Maldonado, finished in 4th place in Novice Humorous Interpretation with her selection illustrating Native American life. In addition to El Camino, 14 schools participated in this event for a total of nearly 300 students from all over San Diego County.
Thanks to Speech and Debate Team advisor, Mr. Waits, and congratulations to Karis, Michelle and Michelle! Way to go, Wildcats!!
