DATE/S OF DISCOVERIES
1602- Galileo proves his theory of the pendulum. Which later lead to him discovering the pendulum clock.
1607- Galileo invented the Thermoscope
1609- He discovered the moons surface wasn't flat using his invention of the telescope.
1610- He discovered four satellites of Jupiter.
1915 - Galileo discoveries the sun is the centre of the solar system
1915-1906
Galileo makes many different observations about the solar system, using his new telescope.
- The moon is an irregular, rough body, not smooth as scientists thought.
- The Milky Way is composed of many stars.
- Jupiter has many small satellites that he named, "Sidera Medicea," after his favorite pupil.
- He made observations about Saturn, sunspots, and the phases of Venus.
Technologies used of the time
The main technology that Galileo used was the telescope.
What contributions did they make to our knowledge and understanding of the solar system?
Galileo made a huge contribution to make our knowledge and understanding of the solar system. We know about the order of the planets. We know that the moon is not a smooth surface. We understand the way the solar system works. We also know about the milky way
because of Galileo's research and discoveries.
