One Book, Two Books

Red Book, Blue Book!

Trade your old book for a new book!

The Palencia Library Cove is proud to announce our 3rd Annual Seusstastic Book Swap during “Read Across America Week.” It all starts on February 22, 2016. Students bring their gently used children’s books to the Media Center 8:10–9:00 each morning from February 22 - March 8. Starting February 29, students can choose books from the exchange collection during their Media Resource time. The swap will end March 8, 2016. Students will be able to exchange up to 3 books, but may donate as many as they would like. Students who donate more than 3 books can choose extra books at the end of the swap.

Plastic Bags are a BIG DEAL! - Protect your library books. Please donate large bags.

Wishy Life Buddies

Kindergarten will enjoy an author visit during Resource on Wednesday (ROW) before Spring Break from Tiffany Oliva and Deborah Oliva the authors of Wishy Life Buddies: The Original Easter Tradition. This story provides families with a sneaky, seasonal pal who gives treats, rewards and encouraging messages to well-behaved children during the Easter season. The story and gift set can be purchased at http://www.wishylife.com or use the order form that went home with your child to get your book signed by the author.

Birthday Book Club

The Palencia Elementary School Media Center’s Birthday Book Club is a wonderful way to commemorate your child’s birthday. Your participation not only enriches the library collection but allows you and your child to be personally involved in its growth.

To take part in the Birthday Book Club donate one new undamaged hardback book. This book should be a book that your child enjoys and one that we don’t have in the media center already. You can choose a new book at the book store or a new book from the Book Fair. A quick check of our library catalog (Destiny) will tell you if we already have the book. If you would prefer, you may make a monetary donation of $15 and your child can choose from recently acquired books that are waiting to be put on the shelves. For more information, contact the media center.
