Boynton vs Virgina- 1960 (7-2)
Rights involved- racial segregation
Impact- Liberal because it was one of the issues that's starts desegregation
Historical significance- Its significance is that its outlawing of racial segregation in public transportation led directly to a movement called the Freedom Riders, in which African Americans and whites together rode various forms of public transportation in the South to challenge local laws or customs that enforced segregation.
Abington school district vs Schempp- 1963. (8-1)
Rights involved- first and fourteenth amendment
Impact- liberal because there trying to separate church and state.
Historical significance- we still don't do schools pondered prayer readings in public school today.
Griswold vs Connecticut- 1965 (7-2)
Rights involved- "right to marital privacy"
Impact- liberal because conservatives are usually pro life.
Historical significance- women can now get abortions in Connecticut.
Roe v. Wade-1973. (7-2)
Rights involved- fourteenth amendment
Impact- liberal, the conditions to get a abortion became easier to meet and this helps many women.
Historical significance- Texas law making it a crime to assist a woman to get an abortion violated her due process rights.
