What's in the App Store?
There are so many great educational apps in the App Store for elementary school-aged children, we couldn’t narrow it down to our top 5 reviewed and recommended apps for 4th grade. Our list covers apps for encouraging creative writing and self-expression, text and visual design, scientific inquiry and observation, spelling, coding for kids and even a tool for assessing reading skills.
Reviewed and Recommended
Book Creator for iPad is a fantastic tool to encourage authors and illustrators of all ages and abilities to express themselves and share their work with family, friends and even the world if they wish.
KidQuest will provide your children with hours of hand-on, learning fun as they do crafts, explore science experiments and more as they follow the directions from this app.
The Word Creativity Kit provides a unique system to explore the interplay between text and visual design that will stimulate creativity as well as creative writing.
Whether you or your child wants to learn programming or you just want to work on problem solving and critical thinking skills, Hopscotch is a definite must download; especially being it is free.
The Read With Me Fluency app offers a simple and convenient way to assess student reading to teachers, parents, tutors, and others who need to monitor progress. The app allows users to administer an informal reading inventory (a common tool) to single students or entire classrooms or groups.
Sushi Scramble offers an exciting and fun way to practice spelling skills that will be entertaining to nearly any age group.
4th-5th Grade Reading Comprehension Social Studies is a good application to promote practice of vital reading comprehension skills.
