- Watching the excitement and interaction among Kindergarten and 3rd grade students during "buddies".

CT WRESTLING SEASON IS STARTING!
Halloween At School
Monday, October 31 is a 12:30 dismissal for both schools.
Halloween Costume Guidance
We are so excited here on campus to celebrate Halloween. Students have been asking for guidance on two things.
First- yes students may wear the inflatable costumes.
The second is regarding Middle School students arriving to campus in costume. Middle Schoolers will have a normal instructional day until 11:30am. Therefore, Middle School students DO NOT come to school in their costume. They will be provided time to change before Halloween activities begin.
Please use the costume guidelines below if your child plans to wear or bring a costume to school.
- Costumes cannot include any weapon. Please leave these at home.
- Please limit blood/gore as we have small children.
- No inappropriate slogans, language, or products.

Volunteer Vaccination Status Update
With the September 19, 2022 decision from CDPH regarding lifting the requirement for unvaccinated employees to submit to weekly Covid testing, our District, in collaboration with our union leadership teams, have agreed to lift the Covid testing requirement for unvaccinated volunteers effective October 5, 2022. As always, safety remains our top priority and we will continue to have test kits available for staff, students, and volunteers to use as necessary. In addition, we would continue to stress that should a student, staff member, or volunteer feel ill or have symptoms, please remain away from the school site so that others would not be exposed to any illnesses.
NO Summit Store On Fridays
Parents and Students-
The Summit Store has notified the district that effective today, NO students are allowed to be at the store unsupervised (without a parent), especially on Fridays.
The store will revisit this decision in December. In the meantime, please talk with your child (and their friends) about what the expected behavior is when interacting with summit store staff and patrons.
Thanks for your partnership.
Please remind your child that they MUST cross using the bridge and not to run across Summit Road.
Short-Term Independent Study Reminder
Short-term Independent Study Application requests need to made at least two weeks prior to the date of the first absence. Vacations do not qualify for independent study. To complete the application process, please enter information on the application form, print the application, and submit a copy of the application to your child(ren)'s teacher (if attending Loma Prieta Elementary) or the school secretary (if attending CT English).

BUSES
We encourage you to consider using our school buses to transport your child to and from school to reduce the campus traffic and increase our parking lot safety. Bus pass information is available in both school offices.

We do have some classrooms with students who have life threatening allergies to other nuts. If your child has peers in their classroom with allergies to other nuts, your child’s teacher will inform you that your child’s classroom is a nut free space.
