Journal Writing
***Example: America has changed over time. Long ago, students wrote with chalk and slates. Now, students write with pencils and paper. That is how America has changed.
Please check and assist students with putting a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence, spaces in between words, and punctuation at the end of the sentence.
Thank you for all of your hard work!
Guided Reading Expectations
Everyday your child should come home with a new guided reading book (little reader.) If your child does not come home with a guided reader, please read books on MYOn or at home for 20 minutes.
Expectations for Guided Readers:
1. Parent or guardian assists student in reading the book at least 3 times.
2. Focus on sight words in the book. Hint: Practice writing the sight words.
3. Ask questions about the book.
4. Let the child read the book independently to another person.
We are so grateful to our supportive families. Thank you for all of your hard work!
