Welcome to the start of a new school year! I hope that the 2017-2018 school year is the best ever for you and your child. Please allow me to introduce myself: my name is Michelle Mitchell and I am starting my seventh year as the principal of Webster Elementary: a GREAT place to work. I taught in this building for 10 years, then spent two years working in central office as the elementary curriculum coordinator before coming back to serve as principal. I am truly blessed to be able to work with your children and our fabulous staff each day. There is no better job in the world than that of an educator: we have the ability every single day to make the world a better place for your children and I am grateful for that opportunity. Parent involvement in school is vital! We want your children to know that we work with their parents to do what is best for them. You will receive monthly newsletters from the school, weekly newsletters from teachers, emails, and updates from teachers, phone calls, etc. to keep you up-to-date with what is happening with your child. If, at any time, you have questions or concerns, PLEASE do not hesitate to call, email, write a note, come by, etc. We want to keep lines of communication open at all times. If you need to make a change to your child’s end of the day routine, please call the office (859-2120 ext 3703) by 2:30 if at all possible to let us know where your child needs to go after school. Be prepared to give us your child’s security code when changing end of the day routines.
Pick-Up: Our bell rings at 3:15 to dismiss students who are being picked up. Students will go to the FEMA shelter and wait to hear their name called so they can walk out to your car.
Breakfast: When students get to school in the morning, they go to the gym until the 8:00 bell rings. At that time they are dismissed to put things away and go to breakfast. Students need to be in the breakfast line by 8:20 so that they can eat and get to class on time: our day officially starts at 8:30. Please help us by making sure your child knows for sure if he/she is supposed to eat at school and if you drop your child off in the morning, he/she needs to be here by 8:15 so that he/she has plenty of time to eat breakfast. Thank you for your help!
Box Tops: Please start collecting Box Tops for Education! Students who turn in Box Tops can earn prizes.
