Mrs. Reiber's Apple Newsletter
December 19, 2016
Important Reminders
- Homework this week: None. Remember the students are taking the Unit 2 Module (addition, subtraction, telling time, measurements) math test on Monday, December 19th. The study guide went home last Thursday.
- There is no school this Friday. Winter break begins Friday, Dec. 23 and ends Tuesday, Jan. 3. Students are back at Munroe on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy time at home with your child and family!
- Ms. Gallagher has collected musical recorder orders. If you still need to buy one, please send in the blue paper and $5. If your child already has one or is using an older sibling's old recorder, that is fine. She requests that you send it to school with your child and it will be kept in the music room this year. Thanks.
- The school-wide movie will take place Thursday afternoon around 1:15 p.m. I am not sure yet what the movie is, but all grades will get to enjoy it in the gym!
- Our winter party is coming up on Thursday, December 22nd from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Please contact our head room parent, Mrs. Adams, for more information. Thanks for all of the donations for the party thus far!
- I plan on giving students their Christmas gifts from me on Thursday, Dec. 22. If your child is planning on being absent, please let me know so I can get their gift ready for them on Wednesday. Thanks!
Thanks,
Mrs. Reiber

What we are learning in Room 12...
This is the area of the weekly newsletter where parents/guardians can be informed of what is planned for our week. If your child is ever going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We will take the Module 2 test on Monday. The unit is about milliliters, liters, grams, kilograms, rounding, place value, addition, subtraction, and telling time.
- Reading - We will start Reader's Theater about Christmas Around the World! We will also watch The B.F.G. movie on Tuesday with our 5th grade buddies.
- Writing/Spelling - There is no spelling test this week! For writing class, we are finishing our narrative writing unit and we will work on our goal-setting for December.
- Science - We have started a new science unit about rocks. Last week, we observed the properties of "chocolate" rocks and then got to observe and experiment with real rocks!
