This past week/weekend Bandera Girls Soccer traveled to Pleasanton and competed in the 2020 Battle in the Brush Country Soccer Tournament. The team played a total of 6 games in three days finishing 4th in pool play and came home with the Silver Division Runner Up Trophy. The girls showed a lot of heart in those three days playing together and for each other.

Goalie Madison DeLanghe tallied 34 saves in 4.5 games giving up 7 goals;

Goalie Bietzel Gonzalez collected 8 saves in 1.5 games and gave up 6 goals.

Scorers for Bandera:

Georgia D'Spain with 1 goal vs Canyon Lake to even the score at 1-1;

Hannah Edwards 1 goal vs Pleasanton;

Halle Rios earned 6 goals, 1 vs Pleasanton, 3 vs Manor New Tech, and 2 vs Canyon Lake;

Jordan Edwards found the back of the net 3 times: 1 vs London and 2 vs Manor New Tech;

Maci Morrison almost earned a goal on a throw-in; however no player touched the ball and Canyon Lake received a goal kick.

Defensive Standouts

Maci Morrison ran people down for 3 days and succeeded at her first slide tackle.

Lauren Benedict earned her bruises!

Madison DeLanghe stepped back into a field player role.

I am very proud of the way these young ladies competed throughout the tournament!
