Veterans Day Was a Success!
WOW!! I was so impressed with how the celebration went today. I huge thank you to Mrs. Kastner for all of her hard work and coordination behind the scenes. Ms. Eggold, the Raider Reps were so respectful to our visitors and did such a nice job decorating. Great job getting them ready. Ms. Zehms and Ms. Newville, the food was amazing and the setup looked great! The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts posted the colors and volunteered in numerous ways. Mrs. Zabel and Ms. Pazen, the choir and band performed well and the audience really enjoyed your song choices. Mrs. Schroeder and Mr. Billmyer, thank you for getting the gym set up and for the take down. I know we threw a lot at you this week. We were so happy our sound technician was back - thank you Ms. Harwood! Mr. Cirillo, your Computer and Technology class did a fabulous job on the video. I also received feedback from a couple gentlemen about how well done it was. Mr. Shelsta, thank you for giving up your classroom so we could prepare and host the celebration. Lastly, a shout out to our FLES students for creating the amazing artwork and placemats for the veterans.
I had several veterans approach me and thank me for a wonderful morning. It meant the world to them. Two of the men shared they were in the Vietnam War and did not receive a warm welcome when they came home from the war. Programs like this mean a lot. They both had tears in their eyes. Celebrating our veterans and inviting them into our space is a privilege and an honor. Thank you!
A friendly reminder that students should not be dropped off in the morning before 7:45. Thank you for your attention to this.

HHOPS Welcomes Donations!
If you did not participate in the Cookie Dough fundraiser, but still want to make a contribution to our PTO, we are always grateful for donations. We are so excited to announce that donations and funds raised this year will go towards the purchase of new playground equipment for both schools. If you'd like to contribute, drop a check off at either FLES or RMS offices. Please make donations by CHECK ONLY and address the check to HHASD with HHOPS in the memo line.
ISO Holiday Wrapping Supplies
Every year, HHOPS, your district PTO, holds a holiday shop at FLES that allows students to purchase gifts for their loved ones. We are seeking gift wrapping supplies so that students can have their gifts wrapped and ready to hand out during your holiday celebration. We are especially looking for tissue paper and gift bags, but would also welcome: to/from tags, wrapping paper, Scotch tape, ribbons, bows, etc.
100% of funds raised goes towards the purchase of new playground equipment at both schools.
Donation bins have been set up at each school.
As always, thank you for supporting HHOPS!
Parent Night
We are partnering with Slinger School District to bring in Ted Neitzke to discuss parenting in 2023. Ted is an engaging speaker and has a lot of experience in education and supporting families. Please listen to his video below for more information. The event is at Slinger Middle School.
Students Staying to Watch the Game?
Students who wish to stay after school and watch home games need to provide permission prior to attending the game. Email Mrs. Kastner, kastner@hhasd.org, or call, 262-628-1032, to allow your child to stay after school. This can be provided for a specific date or noted for the entire season.
Let's go Raiders!
When is a Medical Excuse Required?
If your child has suffered an injury (broken bone, sprain, concussion, etc), a medical excuse MUST BE provided to the office. This is necessary to understand any accommodations that may be needed and an expected timeframe. The information is kept in the students medical file, as well as shared with necessary staff, so we can provide the required accommodations.
