A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! Thank you for another great week. Now that it’s May, I think we can officially say that the countdown to the last day of school is on. We have many exciting things to look forward to including Into the Woods Jr., the 2 v. 2 tournament for 7th and 8th graders, field trips, and spirit weeks!
As we begin to prepare for the end of the year and acknowledge the change that is to come, it is important that we recognize some of the things that have changed over the past few years. Throughout the height of the pandemic, many people, adults included, turned to social media and technology to help us to feel connected to those outside of our isolation bubbles. Technology helped us to connect to others, but our reliance on technology has for some turned to addictive habits or unhealthy comparisons. Check out the article below for more information on how youth mental health is impacted by increased use of Social Media. Check in with your kids to see how much time they are spending on social media, how their social media may be impacting them, and how you can work collaboratively with them to help them to find balance.
Have a great weekend!
