“Building the Reign of God, One Child at a Time”
Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
Time has sure flown! This has been a very fast and event-filled two months. As we near the end of the trimester we look forward to seeing all of you during Parent-Teacher Interviews, which will be held on November 9th and 10th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Parents should be receiving a notice to register your times through our online program. All interviews will be held ‘at a distance’. Your child’s teacher will communicate with you via phone call or google meet.
A reminder that at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Peace Parish on November 7th we will be celebrating Catholic Education Sunday, with our staff. This is an opportunity to support Catholic education in our community, to ensure the continued success of our Catholic schools, and to promote the mission of Catholic schools to spread God’s message of love and peace in the world.
In the past three months, we have been working on providing a safe and caring environment. Some of the measures we practice to ensure student safety is through our safety drills. We have completed our required fire drills for the first half of our school year and now we will be working on our other emergency drills (i.e Shelter in Place, Hold and Secure, Lockdown). Many thanks to our students, staff, volunteers, and town services who help to support us when we administer a safety drill.
November is a time to remember all souls and all saints and to reflect on what they have taught us about life and our faith. We remember also the young men and women who have served Canada during times of war, military conflict, and peace to promote global peace, to protect our basic fundamental human rights, and to preserve our values that help to define who we are as Canadians and as a country. Our Remembrance Day ceremony will take place on November 10th in our school gym at 10:30 am. We will be streaming this liturgy to all of our students, within our school.
On behalf of all the St. Marguerite Bourgeoys School staff, we wish you all a happy, safe, and blessed November!
God Bless!

Social Media Presentation for Parents - Free of Charge
Parents:
Our kids are on-line and it is an important place for them to learn, grow and develop themselves for their future. It can sometimes be a scary place though when parents think about some of the activities that can occur while their kids are navigating social media. It is our responsibility to learn together to help everyone make productive and safe decisions while on-line.
In light of this, our School Resource Officer, Cst. Craig Nelson, has arranged for Jo(e) Social Media to conduct on-line presentations to our students from grades 5-12 (5-9 for St. Marguerites). These presentations will occur in the student's classrooms through a zoom meeting. The focus will be on recognizing the incredible opportunities presented by social media and also on being safe while on-line.
Furthermore, during the evening of November 20, at 7:00 pm Jo(e) social media has agreed to provide an on-line presentation to the community of Innisfail. Parents and kids alike are encouraged to sign in for this important free presentation.
This zoom meeting will occur at the following address: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81203520381?pwd=aXA5YTUyRnBvT21KYTNOVks1WFNQdz09

PROTOCOLS/PROCEDURES FOR STUDENT ILLNESS
No Stone Left Alone
Our Grade 3s and 4s participated in this incredible event. Each student showed respect and reverence during our celebration as they left poppies on the graves of our Veterans. We are so blessed for the sacrifice they all made for us.
