Main Thing 2 - Kindergarten Launch!
Will your child be five by September 1, 2022? It’s time to launch them into kindergarten! We are having our kindergarten launch night next Wednesday, April 6 from 4-6pm at your local neighborhood school. This will be a chance for you and your child to meet school staff, get your questions answered and receive tips on how to prepare for kindergarten. Make sure you bring your child’s immunization record, birth certificate and proof of address. If you are unsure which school your child should attend, click here and enter your address and find your neighborhood school!
Main Thing 3 - Attendance Zoning Gallery Walks
We are making great progress on Oakdale Middle School! In April, the public will have the chance to weigh in on proposals built by our Attendance Zoning Committee for new middle school boundaries to take effect when Oakdale Middle opens in 2023. We need your feedback on the proposals! Feedback will go to our Board of Directors who will make a final decision in May or June. We are having four gallery walks for the community to view the proposed boundaries and offer feedback. For those who don’t care to see the maps in person, we will send the proposals and feedback form electronically by April 12.
Gallery Walks:
Oak Grove: Wednesday, April 13 from 5-6pm

Other Things
6th Grade Academy
Reminder! Applications for 6th Grade Academy will close next Friday, April 8th. This is an opportunity for sixth graders to access the middle school experience. The program is open to up to 120 sixth graders at both McLoughlin and Hedrick Middle Schools. Click here to learn more about the academy and to fill out an application.
Important: The district is currently working to rezone middle school boundaries in preparation for our third middle school - Oakdale Middle School – which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023. If your student is selected for the 6th Grade Academy, it is possible they may be attending a new middle school in their seventh and eighth grade years. You can read more about the attendance zoning process on our website.
