GIV Launch is a local, classroom-tested, week-long curriculum taught by Alex Gabbi, a UT professor from the McComb's School of Business. Inspired by the Shark Tank television show, students will learn how to start and operate a business in this camp. Two camps will be taught at IQuest. Register below, space is limited.
Shark Tank | GIV Launch Curriculum
Students will learn:
- How to generate good ideas for their business
- Validate solutions to real customer problems
- Determine whether customers will pay for their ideas
- Calculate financing requirements
- Understand how to make money
- Define an execution plan and practice making decisions
- Experience what it takes to pitch to a 'Shark Tank' of investors
GIV Launch Competition
Participation in any of the GIV Launch camps allows students to register at no charge for the GIV Launch Competition on Friday August 21st, 2015, where $1,000 will be awarded to the best new business pitch by a panel of judges. Each class limited to 16 students.
About Alex Gabbi
Over the course of his 20+ year career, Alex Gabbi has successfully launched five start-ups. Alex also has over 10 years of instructional experience in Business Operations, Entrepreneurship and Marketing at UT-Austin. For the last three years, he has also volunteered his time to provide extracurricular educational programs to elementary and middle school students on a wide variety of topics.
