Campuses Celebrating Black History Month
During the month of February, Argyle ISD campuses are celebrating Black History Month and learning more about the history and achievements of black leaders in U.S. history.
The campuses across the district are providing daily announcements, implementing videos, activities and lessons focusing on Black History Month and famous individuals and events. The libraries are providing books, read-alouds and virtual storytime on famous African Americans and their significant contributions to our world.
Students across the campuses are also doing a variety of activities including artwork and researching and writing biographies on famous figures.
AHS Student Artwork Receives Recognition
The artwork of Argyle High School senior Adriana Saenz has received state recognition. It was chosen to be featured at the Texas State Capitol during the month of March as part of the Capitol Exhibit celebration Youth Art Month!
Congratulations to Adriana on this outstanding achievement! Her artwork was done with oil on a canvas board.
Eagles Soaring High! Two AHS Band Members Named All-State
Amanda Mason and Tyler Lansberry have both been named Association of Texas Small School Band All-State! Amanda plays the contrabass clarinet and Tyler plays the trombone. Congratulations to these talented Eagles!
Football, Band, Cheer Honored at State Celebration
The night included a special message from Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright, School Board Vice President Dr. John Bitter and AHS Principal John King. Each member of these teams and groups was honored individually and the cheer and band also performed. Eagle football also honored its special individual award winners along with academic all-state.
Capture The Moment: Talon Photogs Win Awards!
Katie Ray earned second place in News Photos for "The Fight for Justice Continues" photo that was honored by the Texas Photographic Society and the National Scholastic Press. Nicholas West's photo "Through The Lens" took fifth place in the "Feature Photo" category.

Guess Who? UIL Lone Star Cup Rankings Released
The point standings include: team tennis, cross country, marching band, volleyball, robotics BEST, football and spirit. This is the first points update of the year by the UIL.
The Eagles have won a state championship in football and band and earned a runner-up finish in spirit. Canyon is in second place with 42 points and Melissa is third with 36 points.
Argyle is a previous 10-time winner of the UIL Lone Star Cup.
Argyle ISD Goes RED!
Our official GO RED day in the district is February 11- everyone wear RED to school that day! On February 12 it will be RED OUT in the stands at the home basketball games. Together we can make a difference!

School Board Filing Application Deadline Feb. 12
Ritchie Deffenbaugh has filed for Place 4, which he currently holds. Dr. Leona McDade has also filed in her current Place 5 position.

Senior Night Friday! Argyle Teams Host Springtown
This marks the Lady Eagles' final game of the regular season before the playoffs begin next week. The Eagles conclude their regular season on Friday, Feb. 12. Both teams are coming off a bye on Tuesday.
Lady Eagles play at 6:15 p.m. and the Eagles play at 7:45 p.m.
