What Did We Do in Class Today? Was Homework Assigned?
SCIENCE: Students in science class will be starting a Gizmo (online lab) to investigate kinetic energy and how it relates to phases of matter and phase changes. Students in honors science will be creating a children's story book to teach a 3rd grader about the atom and its particles. Students will be given a rubric to guide them in their story telling!
ELA(Mrs. Goodwin and Ms. Nielsen): Today students finished their group answers for their "Night Burial" question (how did the author of "Night Burial" use dramatic irony to create suspense). Students then edited each other's answers, then wrote their final answers in their interactive notebook to be graded. Tomorrow I will finish consulting with students about their i-Ready diagnostic score and their last quiz grade. Beginning Monday, I will hand out detailed progress reports to each student each Monday to take home and be signed. HONORS: Honors students will need to bring their book club book tomorrow.
ELA (Mrs. Brown): We will be working in our Language workbooks and reading our book "All the Lovely Bad Ones" aloud.
MATH (Mrs. Boyd and Mr. Powell-Deppe): Students will continue to discover exponent rules. Students are creating peer-lead stations today and tomorrow on a specific exponent rule. Students, in groups, will use the computer and their Cornell Notes to create a learning station for their given exponent rule. Students will teach their rule to their peers on Friday and Monday of this week. Their station must present their rule in a creative way. It must also have at least five practice problems for their "students" to work through in order to see which students understand the rules and which students do not. ANNOUNCEMENT: Unit 2 Quiz 1 on Friday! Study Guides will be given Thursday.
MATH (Mr. Nilson): Expanded and standard form for solving addition, Using data tables to ask questions and interpret data.
ALGEBRA: Algebraic Proportions.ANNOUNCEMENT: Quiz on Monday
SOCIAL STUDIES: Students will begin learning aboutt the Pilgrims and their adventure! We will be reading various text about the struggle!
