Interdisciplinary Seventh Grade Art Projects
Seventh grade art students are in the process of creating temporary tape murals throughout the halls of Murray Avenue School. After studying the Renaissance in social studies, students made connections between this assignment and the work of 15th century artists. One-point perspective is thought to have been represented for the first time in 1493 by the artist Masolino da Panicale. Artists throughout history have built on this groundbreaking discovery to create the masterpieces we know and love today. Students were challenged to plan, enlarge and implement their unique works of art. This modern take on a traditional idea has empowered students to create their collaborative displays.
Congratulations MA Field Hockey Team
Congratulations to the Murray Avenue Field Hockey team for winning the 2018 Sportsmanship Award for fall season. This award is voted upon by the other teams in the league. This team had an undefeated season, won the league championship, and has now been awarded this sportsmanship honor. What a great season! Congratulations!
