Do you have or know of a student beginning Kindergarten next year? Spread the word...WHS hosts a beginning preschool program. Preschool experience supports Kindergarten Readiness Skills! The child development class at Wheeler High School is starting up its 26th annual child laboratory to help students complete their study of preschool child development. The students need and appreciate the opportunity to have practical experiences with children. The preschool program begins Monday, November 30th, 2015 and runs until Wednesday February 10th, 2016.

5th Graders learn first-hand during Social Studies

Anthony Salas's Grandfather, a Lakota-Sioux Medicine Man, visited the 5th graders this week. Our 5th grade students are currently studying the Native American's of North America and it was a privilege to hear first-hand the ways of their culture.

From the desk of Mrs. Fields:

The winter weather is creeping up on us. Please let us know if we can help you secure a winter coat, hat, and/or gloves for your child. All students will go out for recess, please ensure they are dressed accordingly. To avoid the lost and found closet, please label all your child's gear!

From our music teacher Mrs. Alonzo: Mark your Calendars: JSE Winter Music Program at WHS

All grades will perform on the evening of December 9th at 7pm in the WHS Auditorium. Information will continue to come home in Thursday Folders up until the event. Thank you to Mrs. Alonzo and parent volunteers, we are all looking forward to a wonderful evening!
