8th Grade Retreat
The 8th grade retreat is coming up...on Tuesday. First off, all students must turn in a signed, completed permission slip. Also, the students will be at the Chaloner cabin for the day (meals are provided) and the kids will be able to swim. Kids can wear free dress that day and also bring a swimsuit. I spoke with the kids about appropriate swimwear. Boys are fine with swim trunks and can wear a swim shirt or t-shirt (especially if the sun is an issue). For girls, their only swimsuit option is a one piece suit. I told them that the suits cannot be low cut, have cut-outs, or be a tankini style. They are welcome to wear shorts and/or a t-shirt over the swimsuit. Also, kids do not have to go swimming or even get in the water. Mr. Chaloner has not only provided the cabin and is taking care of the food, but he has also hired a certified lifeguard. This is the family's 43rd year of hosting the 8th grade retreat! It is such a treat and I know the kids will have a lot of fun with Mr. Farias and Ms. Berenice again this year.
Proper swim/beach attire
Graduation Attire
This is a very special day and we want the kids to look their best. They should be dressed in their best outfit. Jeans, sweats, sweatshirts, t-shirts, leggings, and other casual clothes will not be permitted. Boys should be in dress pants, a dress shirt, and tie (or a suit). Jacket is optional. Girls may wear a dress, skirt and dressy shirt/sweater, or dress pants with a dressy shirt/sweater. Skirt and dress length must go to the knee or within 1-2 inches above the knee. If the girls are wearing skinny straps, they must have (and wear) a sweater. Strapless is not permitted. If the outfit is inappropriate, the student will be asked to go home and change. If the student has a question about what they are wearing, they need to error on the side of modesty, since we are a Catholic school. If you or your child has a question, feel free to talk with Mr. Farias or Ms. Dempsey.
