Caldwell Update
February 2022
A Message from Ms. Massey
It's hard to believe that it is February already. Look how time is flying by! This time of the year teachers and students are hard at work teaching and learning new skills every day. We are so excited to welcome all the new things this month brings. We want to extend a warm welcome to our students, and their families, who have recently joined us. Our English Learners are getting prepared to take their annual TELPAS assessments which will assess their language proficiency development. We are also getting ready to celebrate Kindness Week with special activities for our students and staff this month. Valentines' parties will occur on Friday 14 during the last 45 minutes of the school day for all grade levels except for second grade. Second graders will have their parties from 1:25-2:15 pm. Students will take their Valentines home unopened for parents to decide when to open.
Thank you again for your continued support to our Caldwell Cats, teachers, and staff. We are grateful for the partnership we have with our families.
Sincerely,
Karla Massey, Principal

2/14 Kindness Week
This month our Character Strong trait is Kindness!
Kindness is the choice to act with words, gifts, or actions to bring appreciation, positivity, and encouragement to others and yourself. Here are some conversation starters you can have with your child at home:
What does Kindness look like in our home?
Why is it important to show Kindness to people who aren’t kind to you?
What acts of Kindness have others shown you lately and how did you respond? How did it make you feel?
We are celebrating Kindness Week on the week of February 14th! We will have daily kindness challenges and dress up days to spread kindness to all Caldwell students. We will also start our Animal Shelter Donation Drive this week to help spread kindness to the animals at the Collin County Animal Shelter. Each grade level will have a box in their hallway where they can put their donations. Here are some things you can donate:
Blankets
Towels
Pet toys
Pet food/treats
Q-Tips
Pet brushes
Pet shampoo
More detailed information about kindness week and Animal Shelter Donation Drive will be sent out in a flyer soon.
