Homer Highlights
Week of January 25, 2021
Dear Families,
Then we remember to focus on what we do have...we have the ability to see our students in person, the ability to provide free breakfasts and lunches to all students, the chance for students to listen to their teachers in person, and even the chance for sports teams to begin practicing. And maybe most importantly, we have a hope that things are getting better. That each week, the number of cases in our state, county, and even locally decreases. We have hope that a vaccine is now available. Our students look to the adults in their lives to help set the tone for their expectations. Help us to focus on the positive and keep encouraging your students to do the same!

More Support for Families in Need: P-EBT
Students must qualify for free or reduced lunch to receive these additional benefits. Because breakfast and lunch have been provided to all students at no cost this year, many families may not have completed the Free/Reduced Application. Please go online at lunchapp.com and do this! Families will only be considered for the P-EBT program if they have a qualifying application on file! Don't miss out on this opportunity!

Be a Part of the 2020-21 HMS/HHS Yearbook!
We're excited to announce that the 2020-2021 yearbook staff is hard at work and ready for picture submissions and orders for yearbooks!
As this has not been a traditional year, our staff has determined this should not be a traditional yearbook - it will be better! With that in mind, we are asking for any photos (school appropriate, of course) taken since September. Photos do not have to be of activities done in school! Maybe your family began making puzzles while quarantined, maybe you tried new recipes, maybe you practiced skills for the sport you DIDN'T have, or maybe you sat with your parents while they assumed the role of educator. Whatever you did, we want to showcase all the wonderful students and families at Homer and the community that makes this such a special place to live. All submissions should include a Homer student (grades 5-12), the month the photo was taken, a complete list of everyone in the photo - even if they aren't in school now, and a brief description of what is happening in the photo. Seniors should also be submitting baby photos and at least one casual photo taken this year. If you have any questions, please reach out to the yearbook advisor, Mrs. Lorraine at tlorraine@homerschools.net.
*Please note that while we want to add all the images we can, we do not guarantee all submissions will be printed.
**The past 11 months have presented quite a hurdle, but if you purchased a 2019-2020 yearbook, Mrs. Berger, last year's advisor, should be sending news regarding delivery soon.
Student Congrats!!!
Congratulations to the LFE January 21 Social Contract Trojans of the Week!
