Do you love challenging math? Are you interested in competing in a variety of fun and engaging competitive math contests? If so please join Math Counts! Our first practice will be on Tuesday, September 26th at 3:05 in A117. Please pick up a permission slip outside Ms. Frank's door before next Tuesday.

PTSA Reflections Contest Now Open!
Calling for HAWK-tastic talented students to participate in the National PTA Reflections Program!
Your UMS student can have a chance to share their talents and get recognition from different levels of the competition: County, State, or even National Level
Last year, 2 UMS students moved on to Natioinal Level:
Geethika Kondabatini (Dance Choreography)
Emma Liu (Literature)
Emma WON the highest award of Outstanding Interpretation in the National Level!!!

What to do?
Step 1: Reflect on this year's theme
"WITHIN REACH"
Step 2: Students can express their own interpretation of the theme by creating an Original Project in ANY or ALL the Art Categories:
-Dance Choreography
-Film Production
-Literature
-Music Composition
-Photography
-Visual Art
Step 3: Turn in your original creation!
Submission of projects will be in November, no later than 11/15/17.

Step 4: Attend the Reflections Program Recognition Ceremony just before the Chorus/Jazz Concert in December.

FCA Meeting Tuesday September 26 & Flagpole Meeting on September 27
Wednesday, September 27 is See You At The Pole. Students will meet at the UMS flagpole at 7:30 a.m. to pray for our nation; the faculty, staff, and students. Students all over the USA will be meeting and praying at their flagpoles.
Science Olympiad Tryouts!
Robotics Club Starts October 2
Meetings will be held in room A008 and the first meeting will be on Monday October 2nd from 3 – 3:30 to introduce the club and discuss future meeting dates, as well as how the club will be organized. Students who are interested should sign up on google classroom, using the classroom code: q51w8r
To attend students must fill out the permission form and turn it in to Mr. Weisman, by the first club meeting. The form can be found here.
