Here is what is happening in U.S History

Wolverine Family,

For these next 9 weeks, 8th grade Social Studies will be focusing on the writing of the Constitution, the beginning of the United States Republic, the challenges the first 5 U.S. presidents had to face and the rise and impact of Andrew Jackson. We just finished our first major assessment for this class. Students who missed 4 or more answer are given the opportunity to do test corrections to improve their grade. Please have your child reach out to Mr. Coronado or Mr. Kinsler for help. Our next big assessment will be the week of November 14th.

We’ve been really enjoying working with your child in our classroom and are looking forward to this next half of our first semester. Coming up we’ll be looking to begin hands on projects to finish out the semester!

Here is what is happening in Spanish

Spanish I students are learning Vocabulary for school related activities, supplies needed, scheduling of classes, and expressing feelings and opinions. They are currently writing a report on schools in Spanish speaking countries and will create a Brochure for their own school next week.

Spanish II students are reviewing reflexive verbs and articles of clothing. They are presenting a report on their "Noche Ideal" in which they describe where they are going, with whom, the clothes they are wearing, and what they must to in order to prepare.

Spanish III students are writing a paper comparing and contrasting artists, Salvador Dali and Jose Antonio Velesquez. They must analyze the similarities and differences of their works in addition to the underlying theme for each of the artist's work. They will submit an Artist's Rendering of their two chosen paintings with their composition.
