Remote Learning Begins Week 6

Yes...the Tooth Fairy is an Essential Employee

"There are all kinds of milestones that students reach during remote learning. All of them are important and worth sharing. This picture of Jefferson Kindergarten student causes me to pause and smile. Losing a tooth, in school or out, is a big part of the school year worth sharing." says principal Duane Richards.

Please remember we are still here to share in the wonders of your child. We miss all our students but we must remain strong, at home, and safe.

Gr 7-12 Rubric for Grading Rolled Out

It is the intention to create a simple rubric to provide: a) a tool for parent involvement, b) a measurement for student participation, c) flexibility of professional judgment, d) consistency grades 7-12. JH principal, Alan Oliver, and HS Principal, Sarah Boyce created videos to help students, staff, and parents understand the grading rubric that will be used in Quarter 4. See JH Video Here. See HS Video Here.

We are all in this together...

Guardians... please do not be overwhelmed with all the clicks, go-to's, and log-ins. We appreciate all you are doing to help your child and us as we navigate remote learning. You should have noticed that lessons are shorter, assignments are fewer, and checks for learning are more flexible. If you and your child do get confused by directions or cant' find the link to the particular video, reach out to the teacher or building principal and they will be happy to assist.

Free Audio Books!

For as long as schools are closed, we're open. Right now, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.

All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.

Talking About the Coronavirus With Children

We have heard that some children are worried about the new coronavirus. Scholastic created a collection to help ease fears and empower you with age-appropriate information. These teaching resources were carefully prepared by grade-level to help your child understand what is being done to keep them safe and how to prevent germs from spreading.

Please reach out if you require any assistance!
