A Note from the principal
Winter Express
Believe in the power of a good book and join us for our Winter Express family night this Thursday, December 6th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Students are invited to wear pajamas as they listen to teachers read their favorite holiday books in a variety of classrooms. At the end, everyone will meet up in the cafeteria for milk and cookies. Parents are invited to mingle in the media center as the students are with staff listening to stories in the classrooms.
Middle School Informational Meeting
During the Winter Express Literacy Night, Mrs. Baker will hold a middle school session for 5th grade parents in the music room at 6:00 p.m. She will discuss and answer frequently asked questions regarding middle school registration. Students are welcome to attend this meeting if they are not participating in the Winter Express event.
Parent Climate Survey
The Easley School Improvement Team is seeking your feedback in order to evaluate and enhance our school climate. We appreciate your anonymous, honest feedback and thoughtful comments. The SIT is a group of elected individuals consisting of parents, teachers, and administrators. The team is responsible for creating and monitoring the school's mission, vision, and school improvement goals. Please take a a few minutes to complete this survey so we can better serve our Easley families.

Student Effort Tickets and Prizes
We know that much of what students get out of their education is directly tied to how hard they are working to learn and grow themselves. In an effort to encourage and reward this behavior, teachers in grades third through fifth are handing out Effort Tickets to students who work hard and take their learning seriously. The tickets are collected in the classroom and at the end of each quarter (during the quarterly awards assembly) students will have an opportunity to have one of their tickets drawn to choose from a variety of prizes. I have spoken with each classroom to get an idea of the types of prizes they would like to see in the drawing. Right now we are in the process of putting together the prizes. I am hoping to get most of them donated or significantly discounted from local business and companies. If you know any connections or have any prizes to donate we gladly welcome the support. The items students are interested in are as follows: College gear and sporting events, drones, science kits, gift certificates (Wheels, Sky Zone, Defy Gravity, Frankie's, Barnes and Nobles, Target), scooter, Chromebook, filled candy jar, remote control car, or anything else that a third-fifth grader might find fun and interesting.
