Student Retention Week
Week of February 2nd-6th, 2015
TLT Brown Bag Seminar
Student Retention: It’s Everyone’s Responsibility
Join us as Michelle Futrell, Director of Undergraduate Academic Services, discusses best practices for retaining students. This TLT Brownbag Session will begin by providing a brief overview of the College’s retention numbers and what we know about students who are leaving. The majority of the session will focus on what you, members of the CofC faculty, can do to assist “at risk” students.
So bring your lunch and any questions you have about working with “at risk “ students or strategies you have used successfully in the past. We want this to be both informative and interactive, so come ready to participate!
ONLINE TRAINING SESSION
Increase Student Retention using OAKS Tools
Learn to incorporate strategies and tools into your OAKS courses that can reach out to all students and increase retention.
In this session we will discuss strategies for using the Attendance, Discussion, Classlist, Intelligent Agents, Notifications, and News to keep your students more engaged and feeling part of the process. While we will not cover the step-by-step of how to use each tool, we will look at examples of uses of each tool and briefly discuss the “how to.”
