Principal's Message
We are at the end of April and about to enter May! Last week I walked with our community superintendent around our campus. This week we have two sets of teams coming to observe the good work you do. First we will have the Academics department on site visiting all classrooms for special lookfors as we continue to plan for an effective TCRWP roll- out. That will be on Tuesday. On Thursday we have some visitors from a private school that want to learn about how we piloted TCRWP this year as they are looking at investing in this curriculum. We are so grateful to the K-2nd grade for opening their classrooms.
As for 3-5th: I will be visiting each classroom to give feedback on your action plans for STAAR. We all are hustling to ensure our students do the very best! On that note, we do want to recognize our 5th grade team that is well on their way to meeting their goals. Give them a congrats if you see them.
We are still in the MAP testing window and know that we have been looking at that data as you should be too. What are your students next steps? Are there special plans you should be doing that will carry over for next year?
We are a multiple measures school district and the measures we gauge student achievement are the following:
- MAP Growth in tested areas- EOY in progress
- STAAR- In 2 weeks
- TELPAS- Waiting in results
- PANORAMA Survey- Waiting on results
- Grade Level Priority Standard Assessments- 2nd ( Read/ Math/Sci) in May 3rd-4Th ( Sci) in May
This Wed at faculty meeting we will go over our May deadlines, close out procedures, etc.
Have a great learning week with your kids!
With love, respect, and admiration,
Rachel Martinez
