New Staff Members

We are excited to tell you about some new appointments to our staff team from January. Mrs Shelagh Finn will be joining our schools as a Family Support Worker, working across both schools. Mrs Eleanor Bates will be teaching Willow Class.

Pantomime - Wednesday 7th December

Don’t forget that all the children in school are visiting the pantomime in Doncaster next Wednesday and will return to school later that day.

Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Dinner - Thursday 8th December

On Thursday 8th December, our school will be taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and our cook will be cooking our School Christmas Dinner.

We know times are tough, so please remember that donations are optional (it’s having tons of fun that’s mandatory!), and any amount you can spare - 10p, 20p, 50p makes you an awesome fundraiser.

Also, this year, whatever anyone donates will make double the difference because the UK government is going to match all donations to Christmas Jumper Day between 1st December and 1st March! All that extra cash will go towards a wonderful cause, helping 200,000 mums and babies in Kenya get the food and medicine they need! (That’s a lot of mums and babies!)

Remember, there’s no need to buy a new jumper. You could upcycle an old jumper, get crafty or head to your local charity shop to buy a pre-loved festive knit. If you want to get creative and decorate a jumper, the Christmas Jumper Day website contains lots of fun craft ideas.

We’d appreciate your support to make Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day a success. Together, we can make the world better with a sweater. Thank you for your support.

Nativity and Christingle Service

The nativity and Christingle service will take place in church on Monday 12th December at 6pm.

Sports Leaders

Our new Sports Leaders have been busy planning sessions for everyone at Saxton for Friday lunchtimes. They have created a relay using cones, throwing a ball into a hoop, star jumps and jumps on the bouncy hopper. Everyone has enjoyed taking part in the activities.

School Lunches

Next week we will be on Week 1 of the New Autumn 2 lunches menu.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

The cook will be serving Pizza on Wednesday 7th December, instead of the Chicken Dinner. Don't forget its our Christmas Dinner on Thursday 8th December.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Packed Lunches - if you are sending grapes in your child's packed lunch, can you please ensure that these are cut in half.

Application for Pupil Absence Form

This form should be completed by the parent/carer and returned to the school as far in advance as possible and preferably preferably with sufficient notice before the first intended day of absence.
