Welcome Back

I want to take this opportunity to welcome you back to school. I hope you all had a wonderful and refreshing break. I was able to enjoy time with family (mostly in the kitchen, eating) and relax with my family as well.

We are so excited to have the students back in the building, seeing their smiling faces, hearing their stories, and watching them learn is why we do what we do. We thank you for trusting us with your most precious ones.

This Newsletter

I know that while most of you get regular communication from your student's class, it has been some time since you have received newsletters from the Joseph Gale office. I am trying a new (and another) way of communicating with parents with this format. I am sure there will be some glitches along the way and I look forward to your feedback to improve it. There will be some ways I can make changes and others I can't, based on the system, and I hope to make it helpful and useful. I thank you for your grace and patience as we work out the bugs.

We Care Deeply

The Forest grove school district has three "Maxims" or focuses this year. They come from all the vision work done at the district last year. The first one is We Care Deeply. We care deeply about your students and encourage them to care deeply about each other. We also care deeply about our parents. We want your experience here to be a partnership with us, to always have you feel welcome, and to feel like you are a part of this school.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with concerns, and a much as you can come in to visit, or even help in your students classroom. When students see parents and teachers partnering together they feel supported and like they have a team behind them!

Peaceful Learning Environment

At Joseph Gale we strive for a peaceful learning environment. To help create this we use the PAX system. PAX actually means peace. You may have heard your students talking about tootles, spleems, PAX vision or PAX hands, and the PAX game. They are not talking another language but the correct language of PAX. Please feel free to visit with your student about what all these things are and how they use them. After that if you still have questions don't hesitate to visit with your teacher or me to get them answered.
