World Class Ski Conditioning
Sports West Athletic Club, in conjunction with Reno Parks and Recreation, is offering a comprehensive ski conditioning program that includes aerobic, anaerobic, resistance stretching, and strength/core building exercises. Three classes per week at Idlewild Park will get you in ski season shape. The public is invited to purchase a $230($50 savings) ski conditioning package for all classes that includes a guest pass and 3 small group personal training sessions at Sports West Athletic Club, or attend for $12 drop in fee.

The program is designed and instructed by Eric Sell, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Personal Training Director at Sports West Athletic Club; and Kyle Spector, Certified Personal Trainer. Both are lifelong/expert skiers. "We employ the latest and greatest research in our workout design. This year's program will be a collaboration of dynamic strength/stabilization, core activation and balance driven flexibility activities," Spector stated. This program will benefit alpine and nordic skiers as well as snowboarders. Eric designed strength and conditioning programs for USA ski team members Bryon Wilson (bronze-Vancouver Olympics), Jay Bowman-Kirigan, and Lori Stahler, as well as UNR ski team memers.

What: Conditioning class tailored to meet the needs of varying abilities.Class will consist of aerobic,anaerobic,
resistance stretching, and strength /core building exercises.
What you need: Trail running shoes, wicking clothing, water.
When: M and W nights from 5:30-6:30. Sat 8:30am
Where: Idlewild Park, across the road from the Sky Tavern Bldg. and behind the California Bldg.
Cost: $12 drop in fee to be paid at the field or front desk at Sports West Athletic Club, OR a one-time fee $230 for all classes ($50 savings)
that includes a Sports West guest pass and 3 small group personal training sessions.

Sports West Athletic Club Ski Conditioning
After a youth of ski racing, Eric honed his skills for over 20 years in the Wasatch at Snowbird/Alta and the backcountry. While in Salt Lake, he had the opportunity to provide strength and conditioning programs for USA ski team members Bryon Wilson (bronze-Vancouver Olympics), Jay Bowman-Kirigan, and Lori Stahler.
Kyle is local born and bred. He’s instructed at both Mt. Rose and Sugar Bowl and his prowess is in the ‘free ride’ domain. He’s led the ski conditioning program in past seasons and is passionate about sharing his workouts with fellow skiers so that on that first day you hit the slopes you’ll be in mid-season form.
