Testing has begun!!
If you are visiting the building please remember to proceed quietly through the hallways. We use every available space, so you never know when you'll pass a room that has testing going on.
Track 1 parents, please remember to have you child get plenty of rest while testing! Also, a good breakfast is essential as well as arriving ON TIME to school! All of this will help your student have the confidence to do their best!
Individual students often continue testing after lunches are over. We STRONGLY discourage early pick ups during testing!

PTA Painting Day
We need a few hours of your time Saturday, June 2th at 9:00 am! The PTA and the TCE school staff are requesting volunteers to help paint some of the halls to make our children’s environment more inviting. With many hands, the painting should only take a few hours. There have been many changes to make our school a more warm and welcoming learning environment for all the Turner Creek Elementary students and your help painting will help us continue with this effort! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Field Day
Track 1 field day is Tuesday June 5th. Please consider volunteering from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. There will be a luncheon for volunteers from 12-1pm. Use the link below to sign up. We will need many hands to make this a successful event for the kids!

In addition, we are taking donations of bottled water. Please leave any donations at the front office by Monday June 4th, labeled for field day.
If anyone has a tailgating tent that we could borrow for the event, please let me know. We’d like to create a shade area for the refreshment stop. We will have your tent back to you at the end of the day.

School Supply Kits for 2018-19 ON SALE NOW!
Want to avoid the hassle of shopping for school supplies? Order a pre-assembled kit through SchooToolBox for your child's grade level. Backpacks, lunchboxes, and other supplies are available through SchoolToolBox as well. ALL KITS and other merchandise will be shipped to your home address rather than to TCE as in past years.

PTA Needs YOU!
Thanks to some awesome parent volunteers, we have filled the kindergarten lunches, building and grounds, STEM Club, and talent show positions!
We have a few positions left to fill for the upcoming school year, so please consider volunteering your time to help our PTA provide awesome programs and experiences for our students:
-Our United Arts/ Cultural Arts Chair position seeks one or two volunteers to help plan and organize programs who visit our school such as actors, artists, musicians, and dancers. This important position enhances our students learning about arts, culture, and more! This requires grant writing and a mandatory training session provided by the NC PTA. If someone from TCE doesn't attend the training, we are ineligible to receive grant funding to support these beneficial programs in our school. PTA Training is done in July. Chairs also attend a fair of vendors offering programs and get to help choose from approved vendors who visit our school. This position can be done mostly from home and during set times of the year depending on the artists schedules. Someone who loves the arts may enjoy what this position offers:) Our PTA would be thankful to have 1-2 volunteers who step forward this May, so they can receive training and have the support of the current chair prior to the completion of this school-year.
Anyone who would like to be considered by our nominating committee for a position on our PTA board, please pick up an application in the office and return it by May 18th. After May 18th, candidates will be notified of results and our Nominating Committee will ask current PTA members to place their vote to accept the nominated board. PTA members are invited to vote for our upcoming board on Tuesday, May 29th between 3-4 pm at a designated table in front of the office of TCE. Anyone wishing to make a nomination from the floor will need to arrive by 3 pm to be placed on the ballot. The voting process is quick and easy and likely will take only 5 minutes of your time, but helps support our PTA by allowing us to plan for our upcoming school-year once these volunteers are secured in their position. Kindergarten Registration has started!
January 4 was the start of Kindergarten registration for the 2018-2019 school year.
We are accepting registrations Monday – Friday from 9:30 – 2:00. The packet can be found on our website, bring that along with a proof address (power bill, gas bill or water bill), child’s birth certificate, photo ID for parent and the most current shot record to the Main Office during the designated times.
Box Tops and Tyson A+ Labels
Help Us Raise Money for TCE!
We just earned $335 from Box Tops for Education! The next Box Tops submission date is November 1st. Please make sure they have valid dates (dated 11/1/2018 and beyond). The Box Tops collection bin is located in the TCE lobby across from the main office.
Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. Here is a link showing participating Box Tops products.
Clip Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages and send them to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check. Each label is worth 24¢! Please drop your Tyson Project A+ labels in the Box Tops collection bin in the TCE lobby.
