"We Are Different and We Are Beautiful"
In a recent edition of Birmingham.times.com, Paine Elementary 2nd grader Aubrey Edwards and her mom Dee Edwards were featured for co-authoring a book called, " We are Different and We are Beautiful." The book encourages girls to see beauty, not the differences in each other.

6th Grade Meet the Teacher at Secrets to Success Night
HTMS invites you and your 6th grade student to the middle school for our annual “6th Grade Secrets to Success” night! This is a night to meet your child’s teachers, learn more about 6th grade and the middle school, bring supplies, and access lockers! Crowds will be smaller than the usual crowd at “Meet the Teacher.” This will allow our new 6th graders some extra time at lockers and with their teachers. By attending “Secrets to Success,” you will accomplish “Meeting the Teacher” and gain valuable information to help make the transition to 6th grade as smooth as possible. So, if you attend “Secrets to Success” you will not have to attend “Meet the Teacher”, but are certainly welcome if you chose to.
Please mark the following dates on your calendar, and when you receive your child’s schedule through Chalkable in August, you’ll go on the night for his/her teachers.
Monday, August 5th-Home Dogs (Williamson, Gray, Booker, Bowman)
Tuesday, August 6th-Top Dogs (Maze, Rosetta, Shelnutt, Copus)
Wednesday, August 7th-Alpha Dogs (Luce, Bettis, Henry, Dennis)
**All nights begin at 5:30 in the HTMS auditorium
